31 Already!

Henry, Michael and I celebrated my 31st birthday with our great friends, Tommy and Ellie, at (where else) Las Palmas. It was so surreal to remember that exactly one year earlier I found out I was pregnant with Henry!! Michael and I had dinner there last year with some friends and I knew I was pregnant but no one else did...not even Michael! I had taken a test that afternoon and had to meet Michael at the restaurant so there was no time to tell him until after the fiesta! I can't believe a whole year has already past! And what a wonderful year it was!!! This year when I blew out the candles, I didn't have my "usual wish"....I was already holding him!

Beautiful Weather!!

First a great big shout out to Mother Nature on the wonderful weather we've had the past few days!! It's been wonderful!!! Henry and I took advantage of the warm temperatures and joined Aunt Ro and the Faber Girls for a picnic at Parmer Park on Friday. Henry enjoyed his first picnic...It was a hoot to watch him lay on the quilt and stare up at the trees and clouds. The first few times the wind blew it took his breath away and he didn't know whether to laugh or cry! His face was so cute! And, of course, he loved watching Ellie, Maggie and Sarah Kate...as always!

So Fun!

Michael put together the excersaucer that the Easter Bunny brought to Henry and he loves it! It's great for momma, too! I get about fifteen minutes of 'me' time while Henry plays! I know it's a ton of fun for him but could it be any tackier...I mean, really, this big ol' orange/purple/turquoise round thing sitting in the middle of my living room doesn't really fit the decor! Oh well! Sweet Henry loves it!

The Easter Bunny came to see Henry last night!! Here are some pictures of Henry in his Easter pjs this morning before church.




After church, our friends Jill, Alan and Aaron Pulfrey came over for lunch...a tradition we started three years ago. Michael grilled a tasty whole chicken, made a very good veggie casserole and I made corn casserole (thanks, Paula Deen) and Jill made chocolate chip cookie dough pie. Deeeelicious!! It was fun to realize that the next time we all gather for Easter that Henry and Aaron will be "hunting" eggs! Time flies! As a matter of fact, Henry is four months old, TODAY! It has gone by so super fast! He's getting so big! He had is four month check up on Friday and Dr. Myers said he wouldn't have even recognized him if I hadn't been with him! He is up to 13 pounds and 9 ounces and is 24 inches long...he gained 3.5 pounds and grew 3 inches since his last visit (february 13th)! He's growing like a weed and is as sweet as he can be!!

visitors!!

Last week, our old neighbors, Chris, Christine, Owen and Lucy came for a visit! Most of you know that they lived right next door and I was crushed when they moved to Chicago right before Thanksgiving. Anyway, Christine and the kids drove down on Tuesday and Chris flew in on Thursday evening...we had sooo much fun! I felt like my life was back to normal! My girl was back! We played outside, had an Easter egg hunt, hung out at the neighborhood Sonic (great for losing baby weight, by the way), had all the neighbors over for dinner, went to the zoo and had game night with some friends! It was really fun and Henry loved watching Owen and Lucy run all over the place. I did not feel like I needed to "entertain" Henry because he just watched O and Luce all day long!! Sip and See

Michael, Henry and I went home to Birmingham on Saturday for Henry's Sip and See...or Gulp and Gawk as I like to call it! :) It was a lot of fun and so kind for friends and family to come meet my sweet little guy. Unfortunately, Henry didn't really care that people gave up their Saturday evening, dressed up and drove over to see him...he fussed and slept the entire time! He was smiley for a bit but then ready to be left alone. I guess being passed from one person to another (even while sleeping) is not such a great nap! However, it was great to see everyone and pretty fun to show off my baby boy! Henry even got to (finally) meet his girlfriend, Aubrey Claire, in person!!

Henry and Momma were sacked out after all the festivities! As you can see in the picture, a heart-healthy meal of McDonald's was enjoyed and then a night of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's!
